Stranger Things is a Netflix original TV show about a young boy who goes missing, and his friends, along with his mother and a police chief, who try unfold the mystery surrounding his disappearance. In their search for answers, they come across a girl named Eleven, El for short, who, with her supernatural powers, adds even more mystery to the story. She comes from a secret laboratory and no one outside knows what goes on in there. All they know is she doesn't have many social skills and is very timid when they initially find her. There is an alternate dimension called "The Upside Down" where evil monsters like the demogorgon and the shadow monster reside. The first season of the show focuses on Will's disappearance and discovering things about the Upside Down and the demogorgon, while season two shows Will's life post-rescue and how what happened to him in the Upside Down still affects him, including his possession by the shadow monster. The characters in the show are all on a search for answers about the supernatural, while also dealing with some real life situations that people would have gone through during the time period of the 1980s. This drama/fantasy/horror mix combines both a nostalgic setting that makes viewers feel good and an ominous, dark mystery full of suspense which leaves viewers on edge and needing to see more.
